George's Brother Found Dead

Buddy Strait, the older brother of George Strait, was found dead in a San Antonio hotel room on Friday, April 10, at age 58.

His body was discovered by a cleaning crew at a La Quinta Inn, according to WOAI-TV in San Antonio. Deputies said that Buddy, whose real name was John Strait Jr., was in town on business. It is believed that he died of natural causes, but an autopsy will be held to determine the exact cause of death. Buddy helped create and organize the annual George Strait Team Roping Classic.
