George Strait gave fans the hits and much more as he kicked off his farewell The Cowboy Rides Away Tour presented by Quicken Loans, Thursday night, Jan. 9, in Bossier City, La. And as he's promised, he'll include special guests to join him onstage at most of the tour stops.

At the opening show, George set the pace early with classic hits “The Fireman,” “Ocean Front Property,” “Here for a Good Time” and others. Jason Aldean then took the stage and sang with George on “Fool Hearted Memory,” George’s first career No. 1 single, and “Nobody in His Right Mind Would’ve Left Her” to rousing applause. Jason also appeared as the special guest for the Jan. 10 show in Austin.

George gave the Bossier City fans an extra bonus with an encore that included “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” and, appropriately enough, “The Cowboy Rides Away.” George will put an end to the touring part of his career once this final leg winds up in Arlington, Texas, in June.

A few days after the performance, Jason tweeted a photo of him on the bus with King George.
