George Strait Joins the Dallas Cowboys

George also set to announce tour plans for 2014.

George Strait is often known as the Cowboy, and on Sunday night, Sept. 8, he'll become one of the Cowboys—the Dallas Cowboys, that is. George will join the team on the field at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where he'll serve as honorary captain for the coin toss before the game between the Cowboys and the New York Giants. The game will be nationally televised by NBC beginning at 8:20 p.m. ET.

George has a bit of a history with the stadium, as he headlined the first-ever event at the venue in 2009. The state-of-the-art stadium is considered the showplace of the National Football League.

There will be even bigger news about George the following day, Monday, Sept. 9. George will hold a press conference from AT&T Stadium regarding his 2014 The Cowboy Rides Away Tour. This will mark George's final tour of his career, as he ends that portion of his professional life. George will continue to record and recently announced an agreement to release five more albums in the coming years.

Look for the tour announcement to include dates, venues and special guests. We can't wait!
