George Jones Shares Lost Duets

George Jones will release Burn Your Playhouse Down: The Unreleased Duets later this summer.

As the title suggests, the album is a collection of previously unheard pairings with special guests—including George’s former wife, the late Tammy Wynette. Among the other stars appearing are Vince Gill, Marty Stuart, Mark Chesnutt, Ricky Skaggs and the Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards. Many of the tracks are outtakes from George’s 1994 album The Bradley Barn Sessions, while several others originate from sessions for 1991’s Friends in High Places. The duet with Tammy, “Lovin’ You, Lovin’ Me,” dates from 1977, while a track featuring daughter Georgette, “You and Me Time,” was recorded just last year. Burn Your Playhouse Down: The Unreleased Duets is set to hit stores Aug. 19.
