The idea of performing a concert together had been discussed for a while, George tells Neil Haislop’s Nashville IQ. The plans took shape when George and Alan went on a fishing excursion. “We met up in the Bahamas on one of those islands and I’ll be danged if Jimmy Buffett wasn’t there,” George recalls. “So that’s how we all got together and started talking about the stadium show. We had been talking about doing that for about two years probably.”
