Gary Allan Faces Alleged Stalker
Katherine Walker, accused of stalking singer Gary Allan and vandalizing his home, appeared in Sumner County General Sessions Court in Gallatin, Tenn., Wednesday, May 27.
Walker was arrested and charged by the City of Hendersonville (Tenn.) May 4 after a May 2 burglary and vandalism incident at Allan’s home in Hendersonville. Allan also appeared in court to face the woman accused of stalking him.
Walker, who gave her age as 47, was appointed an attorney. Her attorney decided to bind the case over to a grand jury without having a preliminary hearing. The arraignment is scheduled for July 24. The grand jury will ultimately decide whether Walker should be indicted.
Allan’s attorney, Bill Ramsey, told reporters outside the courtroom that Walker has been stalking the singer for the past four years. “He has asked her very politely to stay away from him,” Ramsey noted. “She refused to do so.”
They are bringing the case to light now because of the vandalism incident. “When somebody comes to your place and destroys your property, you’ve got to do something,” Ramsey explained. The vandalism charges are supported by surveillance video from Allan’s home the night of the incident.
Ramsey added that his client simply wishes not to be bothered by Walker in the future. “We just want to put an end to this,” he said. “All we want is for Mr. Allan to be left alone.”
