Country singer made inroads in TV marketing.
GARTH HAPPY TO BE HIMSELF
This may sound hard to believe, but Garth Brooks used to wish he could sing like Whitney Houston.
In an interview with the Calgary Sun Garth admits, "I always dreamed of vocally being able to do all those licks and stuff."
But these days, he says he's relaxed. He realized that all he could be was Garth, and even that took some time. It wasn't until he had a few albums under his belt that he arrived at a style he calls "garage country" "I call it 'garage country' because it's real loose, real loud and it's real fun!"
