GARTH BROOKS AND GEORGE JONES GO ON A "BEER RUN"

Garth Brooks and George Jones have plans to record a song together -- and it may happen as early as next week.

According to reports, Brooks contacted Jones about getting together to record a song, and Jones agreed saying, ' 'He's got a cute little song called 'Beer Run.' It talks about getting with the boys and driving the pickup. I'm still listening to the tape. There's some clever lines in it.''

Jones says he was surprised that Brooks made the offer. ''He's always shunned me,'' he said. ''When I'd be on an awards show with him, he always walked away when he saw me coming.'

'

Garth, on the other hand, says he admires Jones, and he has even appeared in the video for "I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair."

The song will appear on Jones' next album, and he has moved the release date from September 11 to September 25, partly in order to accommodate for the recording of the new song.
