The First Dance of “The Bachelor”? A Randy Rogers Band Song
RRB’s leader reveals how “One Woman” landed on reality TV.
The story of how Randy Rogers Band became a part of the storybook wedding of Sean Lowe (last season’s catch on ABC’s dating series The Bachelor) to his love Catherine Giudici involves a famous boxer, a famous nightclub and a song that is about to get a whole lot more famous.
“I found out they were going to be dancing to my song when I was in Los Angeles,” Randy recently told Country Weekly about how he discovered the vital part the Randy Rogers Band’s “One Woman” will play in the highly anticipated special, The Bachelor: Sean and Catherine’s Wedding, airing live on ABC this Sunday, Jan. 26. “I had been texting Sean because we have a mutual friend in [boxer] Victor Ortiz. They were all planning on coming to my show that night at the Troubadour. By chance, I ran into Sean and Catherine at a restaurant during the day and they told me the news.”
Besides being flattered by Sean and Catherine’s choice of “One Woman” as the tune that will lead the adorably sappy couple into their first dance as husband and wife in front of millions of viewers, Randy also couldn’t wait to share the news with another very special Bachelor fan in his life. “I immediately asked Sean if he minded FaceTiming my mom on the ol’ iPhone,” he says proudly. “My song ‘One Woman’ was meant for first dances. I'm sure they will do it justice.”
OK, so Randy’s mom is a fan. But does the leader of the Texas country band consider himself a member of Bachelor Nation?
“Of course,” he says with a chuckle. “Doesn't everybody want to be like Sean?”
The Bachelor: Sean and Catherine’s Wedding airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
