FAITH’S FRIENDS OFFER SUPPORT

Faith Hill was merely joking during her on-camera reaction at the CMA Awards Monday night, Nov. 6, insist her fellow stars and friends.

Faith was caught on a TV camera as she reacted to Carrie Underwood’s victory as Female Vocalist of the Year, throwing up her hands and saying “What!?” and then turning away. What may have appeared as disgust was actually a joke, Faith has maintained. And Faith’s fellow stars are supporting her in the midst of the controversy. Martina McBride told Nashville’s daily newspaper The Tennessean, “I’ve seen the tape, and just because I know Faith, it is obvious to me that she was just clowning around. I just talked to Faith, and she is just torn up about this.” Sara Evans and Kenny Chesney are also rallying around Faith, with Kenny stating to The Tennessean, “To think Faith would be disrespectful in that way is a joke, which is what it was in the first place, a joke.”

Faith has since contacted Carrie about the incident, and the air has been cleared, according to Carrie’s publicist.
