Exclusive: RaeLynn Reveals New Tattoo
Mom misses out on tattoo treatment.
She looks about as sweet as cotton candy and she sings like a bird, too. Heck, in RaeLynn’s single “God Made Girls,” she even sings about flirting in a pretty skirt, but make no mistake, she’s one tough cookie. And she proved it when she got her first tattoo—much to her mother’s chagrin.
The country newcomer explains, “So, I’ve been preparing my mom for this tattoo for a while. I told my mom, ‘I want you to go with me to get the tattoo.’” But mom wasn’t sold on the idea.
“She said, ‘I do not want you to get that tattoo, but I will go with you.’” RaeLynn says. “And then I got to really thinking about it and I thought my mom and her Southern butt is not going to be able sit there and watch them ink me up and stay calm. She will drag my butt out of there. I just know her. So, I called the tattoo place I wanted to go to and I was like, ‘Hey, that appointment that I had set for Thursday, is there any way you could fit me in today? Because my mom is coming in tonight and I’d rather ask for forgiveness than permission.’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, I can fit you in in 30 minutes.’”
RaeLynn got “Daughter of the King” tattooed on her arm and says it’s her reminder that God has her back through everything.
But come on. Tattoos hurt! She laughs and says, “It more stung than hurt. I was preparing myself for the worst. He told me he was surprised I didn’t cry. And I told him I’m tough as nails.”
And cute as bug.
