Eric’s “Springsteen” Song Relationship Lasted Only Two Weeks

Church’s latest single is the true story of first-ever concert with a girl.

In his latest single, "Springsteen," Eric Church sings of being a teenage guy on a date to an outdoor Bruce Springsteen concert. And it's all true, he tells ABC News.

Eric indeed took a girl to a Springsteen show—his very first concert where he took a girl. What a powerful memory and song, one that must've led to a long relationship with her, right? Wrong.

Eric says that relationship lasted all of two weeks. But that night . . . oh, that night.

"We sat up on the lawn, you know, we had a blanket and all that stuff," Eric says.

"The interesting thing is I remember the relationship lasting maybe two weeks, and to this day when I hear that music, I still think of her, and I wonder if she still thinks of me, you know, because that artist became the soundtrack to our relationship, as short as it was," he says.

"And I just love the power of music in that regard."
