Eric Church, Kasey Kahne in New Video
Eric Church recently spent some time burning rubber with his buddy, NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne, on the set of Eric’s latest video, “Smoke a Little Smoke,” which was filmed at the Clarksville [Tenn.] Speedway.
The pair drove several classic cars around the track as part of the filming, which was a treat for Eric. “It was fun for Kasey to come out,” Eric tells Country Weekly. “He was laughing. They were all going to go off to Daytona [International Speedway for a race], and he didn’t know we were going to shoot this at a speedway. He was laughing, saying he couldn’t get away from the speedway.”
Eric wasn’t the only one who got to spin some tires with the NASCAR driver. “[Kasey] actually raced my wife in our truck on the drag strip,” reveals Eric.
Eric also says that he was “itching” to take the wheel. “I begged them to do it. We didn’t plan it. They just put cameras in two other cars and said, ‘Don’t hit each other. Go for it.’ I had never raced on dirt before, so when I went into the first turn, I about put it in the wall. I didn’t realize that it’s as slick as it is. I made the owner of the car a little bit nervous at times, but it’s all in good fun.”
