Encore for Carrie Underwood in “The Sound of Music”

If you missed Carrie Underwood’s debut as Maria in the live production of The Sound of Music, you now have another chance to watch it. NBC will air an encore of the three-hour special on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 8 p.m. ET.

The show ranked No. 1 for its time slot when it aired on Dec. 5 and earned more than 18.5 million viewers. In addition to country music’s sweetheart, it also includes the talents of Stephen Moyer, Audra McDonald, Christian Borle and Laura Benanti.

And don’t you think it would make a great Christmas gift? You’re in luck: The Sound of Music Live! will be released on DVD Dec. 17, just in time for last-minute Christmas shopping.
