Emily West Impresses Judges in “America’s Got Talent” Quarterfinals With “Chandelier”

Performance of Sia’s “Chandelier” has judges and audience on their feet.

After performing Sia’s “Chandelier” on America’s Got Talent, judge Mel B gave Emily West an enthusiastic “Wowzer,” Howie Mandel declared her the best act of the night, so far, and Heidi Klum added, “I think you’re a star . . . I feel your emotions when you’re singing. It makes me emotional when you’re singing.”

But Howard Stern took it up about 10 notches when he said, “Many times I’m interviewed, they ask me why I joined up with America’s Got Talent, why did I become a judge. Because of you. Because of someone like you. That’s how strongly I feel about you. Your look, you’re an original, your sound. And Howie is right. I interviewed Sia recently and I know she’s watching this smiling because you did such justice to her song. . . . You’re so on the money. You’re the best singer I’ve seen here since I started three years ago. The best.”

Yes, things couldn’t be going any better for former Nashvillian Emily West as she seems destined to continue through the quarterfinals of this season’s run on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. And while the beautiful ingénue was at a loss for words after the judge’s comments, prior to her performance she spoke with Country Weekly.

“Honestly, a lot of people are down on reality TV, and I was as well,” she admits. “I was a little bit hesitant because of the way they can edit you. It’s just all about the editing. But the thing is, this show is such a beautiful show for artists to be up in the spotlight and makes the artists look so good. I have nothing but amazing and beautiful things to say. I am being blessed fully. This show has made my dreams come true, honestly.”

Voting for Emily continues until noon Wednesday (July 30) by calling 1-866-60-AGT09 up to 10 times or by voting on the America’s Got Talent website.
