Elton John Loves Hunter Hayes’ Cover of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”

“He blew my mind,” the pop legend tells a Los Angeles crowd.

The country wunderkind landed the title track on the upcoming Elton John tribute album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, which is coming out next year to mark the 40th anniversary of that pop music classic.

Oh, but that's not all: Elton himself absolutely loves it.

“Hunter Hayes has done ‘Yellow Brick Road,’ played all the instruments and he blew my mind,” Elton said at a performance/interview Monday night (Sept. 16) at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, according to Billboard.

Eight other artists are on the tribute album, and Hunter is expected to be the only country singer included.
