Eddie Montgomery Served Divorce Papers

Eddie Montgomery 2010

Montgomery Gentry's Eddie Montgomery has been served with divorce papers.

Montgomery Gentry's publicist has confirmed to Country Weekly that Eddie was served with the documents in Kentucky last night, papers that had been filed by Eddie's wife, Tracy. The legal papers were presented to Eddie at his steakhouse in Herrodsburg, Ky., according to CMT.com.

Eddie posted this on his Twitter account (@luckymaneddie) at 7:40 a.m. today:

U find out u got cancer then u found out ur wife can’t handle that so she seek of and files for a divorce ,,, merry christmas. She says she’s a Christian wow…I think I need to get her a braclet what would Jesus do cause I hope he still here with me

Eddie took those messages down soon thereafter.

The publicist declined to talk about it further, saying only that Eddie's camp would have further comment later in the week.

While the tweets have been taken down, Eddie posted on Facebook on Sunday: "O Tracy were have u been." The couple, married for more than 20 years, have four children and one grandchild.

Eddie shared with fans just a couple of weeks ago that he is battling cancer, and thanked fans just a week or so ago for the outpouring of support.
