Eddie Montgomery’s wife says "it's what the public doesn't know" that led her to file for divorce from Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry.

But Tracy's Facebook post didn't go into any details as to what that might be.

Eddie posted a message on Twitter yesterday (Dec. 1) that said his wife wants to dump him because he was recently diagnosed with cancer. He then quickly took down those posts.

Tracy said on her Facebook page that that wasn't so.

"There are two sides to every story. Despite what is being said, Eddie's cancer had nothing to do with my decision," she wrote.

"It's what the public doesn't know that finalized an extremely difficult decision that I was forced to make. I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words an support during this most traumatic time in our lives."

Eddie's publicist had no immediate comment, but there could be a reaction later today.
