Easton Corbin Puts on His Acting Hat

“Clockwork” video casts him in the lead role.

Easton Corbin has taken a slightly darker turn with his latest single, “Clockwork,” the tale of a guy who falls back into a harmful relationship with the same woman every weekend. As you might imagine, it doesn’t end particularly well for the guy and he’s left heartbroken.

It’s not really a song about Easton, so the performance required him to get into character, much like he did for the song’s upcoming video. Filmed in downtown Nashville one frigid evening, the clip even has a steamy bedroom scene between Easton and the heartbreaker.

“It’s like anything. We’re just acting,” says Easton of filming the scene. “Sometimes I guess it’s a little awkward. I don’t act all the time, but it’s one of those things; it’s just part of the job and you do it.”

But as fans have seen in Easton’s videos, like “All Over the Road,” he’s comfortable in front of cameras and capable of getting into the head space of an onscreen actor. “I enjoy it sometimes, and it’s fun,” he notes. “It’s just part of the deal. You just have to flip the switch and have fun with it. That’s the important thing, have fun with it.”
