DIXIE CHICKS WIN CMA

Contrary to what they might have said, the Dixie Chicks aren't total musical pariahs in the world of country music. The talented trio was named recipient of this year's CMA International Artist Achievement Award. The award acknowledges an act that contributes to the awareness and development of country music outside of North America - and the Chicks certainly did that with their "Top of the World" tour, which reached Australia, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Scotland and Sweden. Previous recipients of the award include Reba McEntire, Shania Twain and Trisha Yearwood.
