DIXIE CHICKS TOP TOURING ACT

Looks like a little controversy didn't hurt the Dixie Chicks. Pollstar reports that the trio was the No. 1 country touring act of 2003. On the trade magazine's list that includes all genres, the Chicks were No. 8, Toby Keith No. 12; Shania Twain No. 13; Kenny Chesney No. 16; and Tim McGraw No. 17. Of the Top 20 artists, Toby played the most shows - 104 - and Kenny had the largest audiences but the lowest average ticket price ($35.76).
