Dierks Headlines Jägermeister Tour

Bentley, Dierks Studio

The first few months of 2011 are already jam-packed for Dierks Bentley. He’s a father again, having welcomed his second daughter, Jordan Catherine, on Christmas day, and now Dierks is set to embark on the 30-city Jägermeister Country Tour. The tour will kick off on March 17 in Wallingford, Conn., and will feature guests Josh Thompson (“Way Out Here”) and new duo Miss Willie Brown. The tour will run through mid-May.

“It’s a good thing we’ve got a video crew on the road with us capturing everything that goes down,” Dierks said in a statement. “Putting my band, Josh Thompson, the Miss Willie Brown girls and a few thousand fans in a Jägermeister-sponsored room with loud country music sounds like a pretty solid recipe for a great night!”

But that’s not all. Dierks will have a new single out at country radio in the spring, and he’s prepping a new album. “I go in [the studio] February 1,” Dierks told reporters during the recent Grammy nomination party in Nashville. “I started writing for this [new] record really hard in November. All I did November and December was write songs and listen to more songs than I’ve ever listened to. I’ve listened to so many songs that it’s crazy.”

The new album won’t necessarily be a sequel to his Grammy-nominated Up on the Ridge album. “There will be a lot more kick drum on this album,” he told reporters. “A lot more drums. Country radio loves drums and I plan on putting more of that on this record. I’m happy with everything I’ve got on this last record [Up on the Ridge]. It’s a bluegrass-influenced record, but I love songs with a lot of punch to [them] and songs that get people up on their feet and I love hearing my music on country radio. So it will definitely be geared in that direction.”
