Dierks Bentley’s annual icy New Year’s Day plunge into the lake looked a little different this year.

Dierks found himself in Orlando instead of Nashville, and the Florida pond he has used in years past had an “Alligator Warning” sign posted.

So Dierks improvised with a plastic kiddie pool and several bags of ice.

“Thx @ajandashley for helping me do my dumbest . . . funniest? . . . ‘lake’ jump ever!” Dierks tweeted. “Ridiculous but we got it done and insured good luck for 2014!”

You can see Dierks Friday (Jan. 3) doing the halftime show at the Discover Orange Bowl in Miami.
