Dierks Bentley’s Father Dies
“It was an honor to comfort him as he left us.”
Condolences to Dierks Bentley and his family on the death of his father, Leon, who died Friday (June 1).
"My dad died yesterday," Dierks said in a statement posted on his website. "It was an honor to comfort him as he left us. Thank you fans for the time and understanding."
Dierks postponed a concert in Washington, D.C., on Friday to be with his father. Big & Rich filled in for Dierks at the show.
The 36-year-old Dierks was born in Phoenix and has often credited his father with his love of music.
