Dierks Bentley has hit No. 1 with “I Hold On,” the song he wrote after his dad passed away last year.

Dierks released a thank-you video to fans Monday (March 24), and he mentioned his father.

“He’d be so proud to see that this song, ‘I Hold On,’ which is really inspired by him, went all the way to No. 1 on country radio,” Dierks said.

“So I just want to say thank you to everyone involved with country radio for making this my most special and really the most important No. 1 I’ve ever had in my career.”
