Denise Jackson Celebrates Her Book

Alan Jackson’s wife Denise Jackson took her turn in the spotlight at a reception celebrating her book, It’s All About Him, at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, July 26.

Denise’s book, written with author Ellen Vaughn, chronicles her marriage to Alan and reveals several intimate details of the couple’s relationship. Before the reception, Denise told Country Weekly that she has more of an appreciation for what Alan goes through when he’s writing a song. “I am certainly not a poet, and what Alan does is probably more refined,” Denise noted. “But it’s a wonderful experience to put your feelings down on paper.” During the evening, Denise was surprised with congratulatory letters from First Lady Laura Bush and Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander. Alan also addressed the crowd of 250 and praised Denise for her book and her support. “She’s always been the better half of this combo,” Alan said. “We’ve learned a lot and grown up together. I am so proud of her for putting this [book] together . . . and I’m glad she’s getting her chance to shine.” For more on Alan and Denise, pick up the August 13 issue of Country Weekly, on newsstands now.
