Daryle Singletary Balances Career With Family

"It's so hard to leave home now and go to work," says the singer.

To say that Daryle Singletary has his hands full these days might be an understatement. Being the father of three—1-year-old daughter Nora Caroline and 3-year-old twin boys Mercer and Jonah—would be enough to keep anybody on their toes; mix in a life of touring and making music, and you've got yourself one busy guy!

"It's definitely getting harder," the "Too Much Fun" and "I Let Her Lie" singer tells Country Weekly. "I'll be 43 years old this year. It's so hard to leave home now and go to work. There's nothing that breaks my heart more than when I'm walking out the door, and my little girl starts crying. The boys don't do it as much any more, but it's just hard."

However, Daryle and wife Holly do find that perfect balance, keeping their family life in order around his career, which still has him on the road playing numerous shows per year.

In addition to touring, Daryle is also working on a brand-new album, which he will release later this year. While he is still in the beginning stages of making the project, one thing he can assure is that there will not be any rapping—only the traditional country music he is best known for making.

"We are still picking songs, but we've got a good idea of what we're going to do," he reveals. "It's been a battle putting it all together. It was a distant light, and now it's in our face. We've got some great songs, and I think it's going to be a great record."
