Darius Rucker is celebrating his 43rd birthday by asking fans to donate to a special cause.
Darius turned 43 on May 13, but instead of birthday gifts or well wishes, he is requesting that fans visit donorschoose.org, a program that lets you select a classroom that is in need of extra funds. Each classroom has a specific need and a specific dollar amount to reach their goal. Of special interest to Darius are high-poverty schools in his home state of South Carolina. Once the classroom's money is raised and the needs are fulfilled, fans who donate receive a thank-you card and photos of the classroom.

“Hope he is the one Jesus comes back on,” heartbroken country star tweets.
