Darius Rucker Raises $95,000 for St. Jude

Another successful year for the St. Jude advocate.

During the 2013 CMA Music Festival, longtime St. Jude supporter Darius Rucker hosted his double fundraising events and had another very successful year. Between the Darius & Friends concert, held June 3, and the celebrity golf tournament, held June 4, Darius' efforts raised $95,260 to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

At the concert, fans enjoyed performances from Darius and his band the Carolina Grey Boys, as well as Luke Bryan, Radney Foster, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, John Cowan, Sam Bush and Joel Crouse. Darius also joined John and Sam to reprise the New Grass Revival tune "Callin' Baton Rouge." The whole cast also got to sing on Hank Williams Jr.'s "Family Tradition," before Darius closed the show with his hit "Wagon Wheel."

“I look forward to this event all year long,” shared Darius. “I get to share the stage with some of my favorite artists, friends and musical influences. As much fun as it is, it’s all in the spirit of raising support for St. Jude, an organization very dear to my heart. Getting to sing with Sam Bush and John Cowan from New Grass Revival, one of the bands that made me want to be a country singer, made the night even more amazing for me.”

Teeing off at the golf tournament the following day were Nashville Predator J.P. Dumont, Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney, Colt Ford, JT Hodges, Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, David Nail, Joe Don Rooney, Chuck Wicks, NASCAR Hall of Famer Darrell Waltrip and others.

Darius is currently on the road with his True Believers Tour featuring guests Jana Kramer and Rodney Atkins.
