Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum Record Cover of “Wagon Wheel”

The tune, originally performed by Old Crow Medicine Show, will be on Darius’ album.

Darius Rucker has been hard at work on his upcoming third album, and after his Grand Ole Opry performance on Friday (July 6), at least one secret from the project has been revealed. Darius recorded a version of Old Crow Medicine Show's "Wagon Wheel" and he invited tourmates Lady Antebellum to sing on the track.

"Secret out after @opry perf-I recorded a version of 'Wagon Wheel' for my new record & @ladyantebellum sings on track," Darius said via Twitter. He also shared a video of himself singing the song on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.

The song was included on Old Crow Medicine Show's 2004 debut album, O.C.M.S. Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show penned the verses around a chorus from an unfinished tune by Bob Dylan. The popular song has been covered by numerous artists, including Jeremy McComb, Mumford & Sons and Little Feat.
