Danny Gokey and his wife, Leyicet, are the proud parents of their first child, son Daniel Emanuel Gokey, born Sunday (Jan. 20). "It's official, I'm a daddy!!!" Danny confirmed on his Twitter page. The baby's arrival marked a beautiful pre-anniversary present for Danny and Leyicet, who were married Jan. 29 of last year.

Danny first hit the national spotlight as the third-place finalist on American Idol in 2008. His first wife, Sophia, had died prior to his American Idol debut, but Danny carried on admirably. He was signed to a country record label and released his first album, My Best Days, in 2010. The lead single from the album, "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me," peaked at No. 24. He released two more singles, "I Will Not Say Goodbye" and "Second Hand Heart," before parting ways with the label. Danny also previously toured with Sugarland and Taylor Swift.
