So you might’ve thought American Idol was over this season. But comparisons still continue between winner Scott McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina, at least here in Nashville.
Both are playing the Grand Ole Opry this week—the week of CMA Music Fest—as they try the country music waters. And fans still argue over who should’ve won.
We posed that question to former Idol contestant-turned-country singer Danny Gokey—the one with the glasses—last night (June 7) at the Country Weekly Fashion Show & Concert.
No doubt about it, Danny says: Lauren should’ve won.
“I mean, if you’re talking purely about the voice,” Danny said backstage, “Lauren wins.”
