Here is his first installment:

Howdy, y'all!!!

I still can't believe that I am on The Biggest Loser. Watching last night's episode reminded me of the very exciting and challenging first day of my experience to help me get my life back under control.

When we were dropped off in the desert, I had no idea what to expect. And then, out of nowhere came these giant helicopters. It was probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen in my entire life. It felt like we were in the middle of an action movie.

We were all grouped by our ages and found out this was a Battle of the Ages season. The twist I wasn't expecting was when Alison Sweeney told us we had to walk a mile through the desert to pick our trainers, I was scared. I haven't run a mile since high school. To be honest, I thought about taking a ride on one of those helicopters to the finish line. That would have been a lot more fun, and easier.

The mile was so hard, but I could not believe how encouraging the rest of my team was. They believed in me and challenged me when I was slowing them down, and they didn't even know me yet. I knew right away I was going to have four lifelong friends from this experience.

The Black Team beat us to the finish line and chose Bob Harper as their trainer. My team, the Red Team, finished second and chose Dolvett Quince.

As soon as we crossed that finish line, it really hit me that I was on the show. It all became so real. I knew this was going to be the beginning of the best and the hardest time of my life.

I was really excited to have Dolvett as our trainer. I could tell right away he was going to challenge me. He is the best trainer in the world, and is going to inspire so many people.

The workouts are insane and brutal but amazing at the same time—every time I walk up to the gym my heart goes haywire. It is incredible how much the trainers love us and care for us; the show is not just a job to them, it's a passion.

Two other people that really inspired me this episode were Antone Davis and Becky Comet. Antone broke through so many barriers that first day. He had to learn how to drop his doubt and really fight for what he believed in. It is easy to see that his family is his inspiration. I felt so bad for Becky when she lost her father. I lost my dad just four years ago, and I know how hard it can be. She was so strong to continue on the ranch with her loss.

I hope everyone enjoyed this first week. The first thing I learned at the ranch is how to love myself and to be proud of what I can accomplish. It has always been hard for me to do that, but now I know to be proud of every little thing. Well, I hope y'all tune in next week to see this amazing journey unfold. -Vinny
