Creator/Star of HBO’s “Girls” Has Twitter Friendship With Taylor Swift

HBO has launched its new 20-something version of Sex and the City called Girls—and it's apparently right up Taylor Swift's alley.

In fact, Taylor started following Girls creator/star Lena Dunham on Twitter, and that has developed into a full-blown online friendship.

How serious are these web friends?

"We have D.M.’ed. I’m a really big fan," Lena tells V Magazine.

"She started following me, and here’s how you find out Taylor Swift is following you. You start hearing from all the insane Taylor Swift fans that are like, ‘If Taylor Swift loves you I love you'," she said.

"So I sent her a message. I was like, ‘I just want to let you know that your albums have gotten me through a lot of very hard times.’"

Lena says she got some backlash from her own followers when she tweeted that she liked Taylor's new album, Red.

"[E]very one of my Twitter followers was like, ‘I so hope that you’re joking.’ But I have no interest in liking anything ironically. If I wanted to be ironic, I’d grow a mustache.”
