Craig Morgan Calls “America’s Morning Show” From Afghanistan

Considering he was once an enlisted man, Craig Morgan remains dedicated to performing for the nation’s military. Currently he’s on a USO tour, entertaining troops stationed in Afghanistan, and called in to NASH’s America’s Morning Show to update everyone on his travels.

“Having been there myself, I remember when people came to entertain me. I can tell you, though, it’s very humbling for us to see their faces,” explained Craig to AMS host Blair Garner. “Just yesterday I had a young officer come up to me and was telling me how important it was and how he was so greatful because it gave him a little piece of home for a few minutes. And his eyes welled up, and he had this crack in his voice, and he had to walk away because he’s a stud of a man and didn’t want to get emotional,” he added, laughing.

Craig also noted that the news doesn’t necessarily show it night in, night out, but great strides have been made in Afghanistan. “I’ve been coming over here since 2002,” said Craig. “It’s absolutely mind-boggling to see the progress that us along with the many other nations have made in Afghanistan.”

Here the conversation between Blair and Craig below.
