Country Strong Opens in Sixth Place

Tim McGraw’s latest movie, Country Strong, opened in sixth place at the weekend box office, several media outlets reported.

It took in $7.3 million, about half the revenue of the top movie this weekend, True Grit, in its third week out.

Others finishing ahead of Country StrongLittle Fockers ($13.8 million), Season of the Witch ($10.7 million), TRON: Legacy ($9.8 million) and Black Swan ($8.3 million).

Country Strong played in less than half the theaters that True Grit did, according to boxofficemojo.com, with the former opening on 1,424 screens and the latter available on 3,124.
