Country AMA Nominations Announced

Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Tim McGraw are the top country nominees for the fan-voted American Music Awards with two nods apiece.

Carrie, Taylor Swift and Martina McBride are the nominees in the Country division for Favorite Female Artist, while Tim, Brad Paisley and Toby Keith are up for Favorite Male Artist. Rascal Flatts will compete with Brooks & Dunn and Big & Rich for Favorite Band, Duo or Group. Tim’s Let It Go, Carrie’s Some Hearts and Rascal Flatts’ Me and My Gang are the nominees for Favorite Album. Teen star Taylor raved that she was “ecstatic” over her nomination. “I’m so excited about this!” Taylor says. “I’m still trying to catch my breath because two minutes ago I was dancing around my hotel room!” For the first time in American Music Awards history, winners will be determined by online voting at ama.abc.com. The 35th Annual American Music Awards telecast will air live from Los Angeles on ABC-TV, Nov. 18, at 8 p.m. ET.
