Could Brad Paisley Be American Idol’s First Country Judge?

Report cites Brad’s close ties to Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery.

Could Brad Paisley be the first country judge on the hit Fox series American Idol?

Dozens of superstar names have been thrown around as possible replacements for departed judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.

But website deadline.com says Fox "is seriously considering" Brad as a judge. The website sites the fact that several Idol finalists have had success at country radio, including winners Scotty McCreery and, most prominently, Carrie Underwood. And Brad has strong ties to both of them.

No word from Fox or from Brad's camp as of Wednesday morning (July 25).

The only other country name to surface so far is Carrie Underwood, who was "nominated" by original Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.
