Clean-shaven Kix Brooks Movie to Premiere in Hollywood

"I'm looking at myself in the mirror going, 'Who is that guy?'" Kix told Country Weekly during filming.

Kix Brooks—singer, songwriter, half of former powerhouse duo Brooks & Dunn, national radio personality, Hollywood movie star.

Remember when Kix shaved his signature mustache a couple of years ago for a movie role? Well, that movie is finally coming out.

Thriftstore Cowboy -- starring Kix Brooks as Wade Locklin, a dude who falls in with some bad guys—will have its debut Saturday (Oct. 20) as part of the 2012 Hollywood Film Festival.

The trailer is out—and yes, that's Kix singing the new original song. And yes, that's Kix in a cowboy hat—with no facial hair.

"I just had to do something drastic to get away from Kix," he told Country Weekly at the time. "This character really wasn’t that much like me personally.”

Of course, a smooth-faced Kix is something that even he had to get used to.

"It was weird. And it still is weird,” Kix said. “I’m looking at myself in the mirror, going, ‘Who is that guy?'"

No word on when or if the movie will be distributed nationwide, but producers are expected to post updates on the movie's website.
