Clay Walker is enjoying fatherhood more than ever after welcoming his new son, Elijah Craig, born this past spring. Clay talks about the new addition to the family in the Sept. 30 issue of Country Weekly, on sale now.

Baby Elijah “just loves life already,” Clay says. “I can see that Elijah has this happy persona about him. He laughs out loud and smiles constantly.” Elijah is the third child born to Clay and wife Jessica, following older son William and daughter Mary. Clay also has two older children from a previous marriage. “Kids help keep you young and energetic,” says the youthful-looking Clay, who recently turned 44.

Clay adds that he totally embraces the dual role of family man and country star. “It’s great having a spouse that has the same values as you,” Clay says. “She handles everything well when I’m not home. Even though I’m just as busy as ever, I just think this is the greatest time of my life. I feel like I’m on top of the world.”

Read more about Clay, and check out some beautiful family photos, in the Sept. 30 issue of Country Weekly.
