Chris Young, Thomas Rhett and Rascal Flatts to Headline SpringJam Music Festival

Panama City Beach is gearing up for a weekend of music and fun in the sun during the first-ever SpringJam. The three-day event follows the inaugural Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam, held last September, which drew more than 18,000 people each day to the coastal town.
SpringJam, which will be held April 7 through 9, boasts an all-star lineup of acts. Headlined by Chris Young, Thomas Rhett and Rascal Flatts, more than a dozen other artists are slated to appear, including Kelsea Ballerini, Old Dominion, Cam, Drake White, RaeLynn, Brothers Osborne and more.
“My wife’s from Florida, and so we can’t wait to get back down there,” Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney tells Nash Country Weekly. “I’m sure we’ll do some golfing down there, too."
“I love it,” Jay DeMarcus interjects, adding that festivals are among his favorite places to perform. “I think it’s awesome. We’ll take a golf cart out sometimes and go to the campgrounds after the show and just stop by everybody’s parties. That’s one of our favorite things to do. It reminds us of being kids, when you used to go hang out, and go to festivals and camp out. It’s a good time.”
Old Dominion’s SpringJam appearance will occur right before they begin their run as the opening act on Kenny Chesney’s summer tour, which lead singer Matt Ramsey says is the perfect way to kick off the season.
“Those are always fun for us,” he says. “I feel like our music is very suited to summertime. I’m a summertime person and a warm-weather person and a beach person. I hate winter. So when we get out in the sunshine like that, it’s really fun. We like to bring a party, and whenever there’s sunshine like that on a beach, we’ll step it up a little more. Our smiles will be a little bigger. Anytime we get to be on a beach, we love it.”
SpringJam and Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam are just two of the many excellent upcoming musical events listed on Nash Country Weekly’s “The Essential 2016 Music Festival Guide.”
