Chris Young Goes Back to His Day Job

GAC episode airs Oct. 9.

Chris Young went back to his old gig for a day for an episode of the GAC series Day Jobs that airs Sunday (Oct. 9) at 8 p.m. ET.

The show takes stars back to the jobs they held while they were trying to find success in the music business.

For his segment, Chris returned to his past gig of installing air-conditioning units, filming in his hometown of Murfreesboro, Tenn., outside Nashville. And Chris recalls to CountryWeekly.com that it was a fitting day for the job. "The day that we picked to do this was the hottest day of the year," he says with a laugh. "It was like 110 [degrees] outside and in the attic where we had to put the unit in, it was around 125. We were all just pouring sweat."

Chris not only returned to his old job but his old boss as well. "We are really good friends," Chris says. "I think the show will be more of us picking on each other rather then installing an AC unit in this house."

"Pouring sweat" notwithstanding, Chris had a ball filming the show. "Getting to do this again was real fun. It really reminded me of how much I loved doing that kind of work," he says. "They really didn't make me do anything too difficult, so I don't think I made myself look too much like an idiot when we were doing it. And I also think that this is such a great idea for a show. I don't know why somebody hasn't thought of it before."

The Oct. 9 Day Jobs episode also features Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town and Craig Morgan. You can get a peek into Kimberly's waitressing misadventures in the Oct. 17 issue of Country Weekly, on sale now.
