Chris Stapleton has become one of country music’s hottest stars, but the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter hasn’t forgotten his roots. Tomorrow (March 24), he’ll partner with Ram Trucks and ACM Lifting Lives for a very special homecoming in Paintsville, Ky. Chris graduated from Johnson Central High School in Paintsville, and that’s where he plans to return, performing two shows in the school’s gym and also dedicating a new outdoor performance space on the campus.

The new Golden Eagle Stage Powered by Ram Trucks was built by Ram Nation volunteers (a grassroots team of Ram truck owners) along with students in the Johnson Central High School carpentry program, and Chris will be on hand for it’s official unveiling. Later in the day, Chris will perform a private show just for Johnson Central High students in the school’s gymnasium, then return to the same stage for his sold-out “Ram Trucks Hometown Concert” for the Paintsville community.

According to Marissa Hunter, Director of Brand Advertising, FCA US, the event is a way for Chris to honor the town that helped make him the hard-working, humble star that he is today, and videos will be made available so the whole world can share in his homecoming adventure.

“While the story of Chris Stapleton may not be widely known, it’s one of pride, dedication and perseverance, all values important to our Ram truck owners,” she says. “It’s a great opportunity and honor for us to go back to Paintsville with Chris to document his return to the place that built his character and work ethic. Ram will be creating videos from this experience to show millions of people the very special town and moments that made Chris the man he is today.”

Earlier today, Chris was revealed as this year’s ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year along with Kelsea Ballerini (New Female Vocalist of the Year) and Old Dominion (New Vocal Group of the Year). These awards were announced ahead of the live April 3 ACM Awards broadcast, where Chris is also nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year (Traveller) and Vocal Event of the Year (“Hangover Tonight” with Gary Allan).
