CHICKS: TOUR’S NOT CANCELED

The Dixie Chicks have denied rumors that their 2006 Accidents & Accusations Tour would be canceled in a message on their website, dixiechicks.com.

Band members Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire wrote: “Any reports being made about the cancellation of our upcoming Accidents And Accusations tour are completely false. We have known since March 2003 that our path in this business would have obstacles at every pass. We have enjoyed meeting each one head-on and will continue to do so.” They added, “We will go where the fans are with great anticipation and no regrets.”

Some cities, including Houston and Memphis, were experiencing slow advance sales, but there are plans to pick up new dates in those markets. There has also been some rerouting and reshuffling of tour dates, which is not unusual for many tours. That led to rumors, however, that some shows—and even the tour itself—would be canceled. But the band has assured fans that is not the case.
