“American Idol” runner-up will make her Opry debut during CMA Music Festival week.
CHICKS GO PLATINUM
The Dixie Chicks can now claim another platinum CD, as their latest, Taking the Long Way, just hit the million sales mark four weeks after its release.
The CD is also seeing success outside the U.S., with sales of two million in Canada and one million in Australia. Taking the Long Way has been at the top of the Billboard country albums chart for five weeks, despite receiving little airplay at country radio, and was also the nation’s No. 1 Top Digital Album. The Chicks continue their Accidents & Accusations Tour in Detroit on July 21 and Pittsburgh July 22.
