Chely Wright hopes that the recent controversy over her fan club will not stop the momentum of her single, "The Bumper of My S.U.V." Chely asked for the resignation of her fan club president when she learned that he encouraged members to falsely identify themselves as military personnel when requesting the song, which supports U.S. troops overseas, to radio stations. "This is a true song inspired by actual circumstances and events," says Chely. "I hope that country music listeners will continue to support this song based on its own merit and the genuine outpouring of emotional response."
