Charlie Daniels to Release Patriotic Album

Charlie Daniels will release a collection Tuesday (Aug. 10) of 15 patriotic songs called Land That I Love.

The idea came from his manager, David Corlew.

“We got to looking and I was amazed,” Charlie tells Country Weekly. “I didn’t know we had that many patriotic tunes.”

Those songs include “In America,” “America, I Believe in You” and an updated version of “(What This World Needs Is) A Few More Rednecks.”

“It had Gorbachev’s name, so you know how old it is,” Charlie says, laughing.

Charlie is in Jackson, N.J., today (Aug. 6) to kick off a run of Sean Hannity Freedom Concerts.

Charlie also talked about his health, his politics and that awesome Geico commercial for a story that will appear in the Sept. 6 issue of Country Weekly.
