CBS to Air Country-Sings-Lionel Richie Special

ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends to tape the day after the ACM Awards in Vegas.

Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum and other big country stars will perform Lionel Richie songs in a CBS special.

The TV taping—which happens in Las Vegas April 2—coincides nicely with the upcoming release of Lionel's duets album, on which country stars collaborate with Lionel on his biggest hits. That album, Tuskegee, so named for Lionel's Alabama birthplace, is due out in March.

There's no air date for the CBS special, to be called ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends—A Lifetime of Hits. It tapes the day after the Academy of Country Music Awards show, and proceeds from the Lionel Richie taping will go to the ACM Lifting Lives program, which helps needy folks through music.
