Catch Martina TV Special on ABC

Six contestants compete to make contact with Martina McBride in the ABC-TV special Six Degrees of Martina McBride, airing July 30 at 9 p.m. ET.

The show is based on the “six degrees of separation” theory, which basically states that we are all separated from everyone else by only six other people. The six contestants attempt to prove that theory by finding a way to make a personal connection with Martina, without contacting Martina herself. Three finalists got the chance to record a demo with Martina and were flown to New York, where judges Miranda Lambert, Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel and entertainment columnist Beverly Keel of Nashville’s daily newspaper The Tennessean selected the winner, who will be revealed during the show. The winner will receive a record contract with the Sony BMG label.
