Carrie Underwood’s “The Sound of Music” Soundtrack to Be Released

Music from the special comes out Dec. 3.

Want a sneak preview of Carrie Underwood's performance on the NBC television special The Sound of Music? Well get ready!

Sony music will release the companion soundtrack to NBC's live broadcast of The Sound of Music on Dec. 3, just two days prior to the special.

The Sound of Music—Music from the NBC Television Event features performances from the entire cast, including Audra McDonald (Private Practice), Stephen Moyer (True Blood), Christian Borle (Smash) and Laura Benati (Go On). The track listing includes beloved favorites like the title track, as well as “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” and “Climb Every Mountain.”

The three-hour live broadcast of The Sound of Music, starring Carrie Underwood in the lead role as Maria von Trapp, takes place Dec. 5 on NBC.
